The Project Manager - David Phillips (Dave)
David was born in the U.S.A, lived in Holland for some years and has lived in Israel since 1976.
In 1997 David Married Esther and they have four children ages 11 to 18.
David studied Mechanical Engineering before continuing in Educational studies and Project Management. Apart from holding several Technical Diplomas and Government licenses (Qualified Electrician, occupational health and safety officer and more), he speaks four languages fluently, a wonderful asset among our elderly!
Having established his own business in building projects, David was asked by the Home to supervise the bomb shelter project in 2010. The Home, thoroughly satisfied with his oversight, asked him to stay on and take over the Maintenance Management.
David, who already had a genuine love for the Home and the residents, in 2011 accepted the position realizing the Home’s need for professional maintenance. He began to build up a new Maintenance Department and team.
Many of the systems and much of the equipment of the Home are already 40 years old, providing a huge maintenance challenge, but David’s experience has paid off. Since he began, David and his team have attended to a host of problems including the heating system, electricity, water pipes, sewage, air conditioning, Nurse call system, P.A. system and security cameras, without the need of outside contractors.
His maintenance motto is: We need to be professional and we need to work according to the Government standards and regulations.
With the need of a nursing ward becoming clear, David will once again find himself involved in the building project for the Home.
There will be many hours of planning, drawing and calculating ahead, but David will count his work all joy with his love for the Home and the residents in his heart, and knowing wisdom comes from the Lord alone.
