At the end of this month we will be saying good-bye to one of our youngest volunteers, Bella. She came to serve at our Home from Germany ten months ago, to fill the time between her school and the college that she will be starting in the fall this year.
Bella learned her duties very fast and did them with quiet efficiency, and always with a smile. Even in her off-duty time she often went to help people in their homes. In addition to knowing German and English, Bella also learned Hebrew, which helped her to communicate with most of our residents who do not speak the other two languages. Because of how our schedules are built, she had many opportunities to travel in Israel together with our other volunteers.
What is Bella taking with her from the Home? She says Ebenezer Home is a place where one can grow, both professionally and spiritually. She picked so many things working with our staff and residents, and she enjoyed many Bible studies and prayers.
We can only be grateful to God for people like Bella, who are so faithful and dedicated in what they do! She has become a part of our Home and certainly left lasting warm memories in our hearts. We will continue to pray for God's blessings and open doors for her, and who knows.... may be one day one of those doors will lead her here again.
Samantha joined our volunteers last month from the USA. She was so excited even before she got on the plane, we could feel it from here! Always with a big smile, she says she misses the Home every day she is off duty and she enjoys her work even when it's back-to-back. She travels around the Land in her free time and takes a lot of pictures. We can see her excitement in everything she does! She's gotten used to us, and we to her, and it feels as if we've known each other for a long time.
It's wonderful to have people from all over the world who want to spend their time volunteering at Ebenezer!
